Building Community Through Meaningful Change

“Working with Serve to LEAD DR has been a transformative experience in my life, personally and professionally. Before joining this project, my work as a mason was simply a way to make a living. But when I started collaborating with Serve to LEAD DR, something changed in me. It wasn't just about placing ceramics; It was about building something that would last in the community and improve many people's lives.

Through this project, I learned that my work has a deeper purpose. Each piece of ceramic that I place in those bathrooms represents a step toward a better future for Caraballo and Pancho Mateo. I feel immense pride seeing the final result and knowing I contributed to something significant. Additionally, the Serve to LEAD DR team provides me with incredible support, not only in terms of resources and training but also on the human side. They taught me that leadership is not just about leading others but about inspiring and empowering the community to make real change.

Today, thanks to this experience, I am a better mason and more aware of my role in society. Serve to LEAD DR opened my eyes to new opportunities and gave me the confidence to continue growing.
