“Sincere love, compassion, and mercy are not exclusive to Christianity, but they are essential.”
“From the time I was eight years old I have wanted to participate in a mission trip. Fast forward eight years later and I have finally fulfilled the dream of going on my first mission trip. Once in the Dominican Republic I realized that hearing about poverty and seeing it is a completely different thing. Throughout the time I was there I grew inspired by the unique and generous people that surrounded us day to day. I went to help these people when in reality they helped me grow as an individual. I am looking forward to going on more mission trips in the future. Whether it was because of their smile or their stories, I found myself inspired by every individual I had the chance to encounter. After going on this trip I learned that you should be happy and be thankful for what you have. The things you take for granted are another’s blessing.”

Youth like Melissa from Asheville High are leading the change they want to see in the world!
This World Changer Club is currently planning a fund raiser to sponsor a home build in the DR next summer. After seeing the struggles that families face when they live in substandard housing they knew that they had an opportunity to so something more! Their goal is to fund one new home build next summer for a family in the village of Saman. Stay tuned for more information on their work, fund raising events and progress!
Here are some photos from one of the two home builds that students participated in last summer in the Dominican Republic…
